Statement

Ángela Solís O'Neill's artistic practice is based on exploring drawing as a fundamental pillar of her work, expanding into painting and sculpture with a constant search for new visual languages. Her work is characterized by the transformation and deformation of everyday objects such as buildings, bicycles, and human bodies, creating a visual universe where emotions, memory, and fragility take center stage. Through a monochromatic color palette and an emphasis on line over color, her work creates a dialogue between the figurative and the abstract, where the stroke becomes an expressive tool to reveal the complexity of the human experience.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and artistic spaces, including the Chamber of Commerce of Seville, the New York Academy of Arts (NYC), the Antiquarium Museum of Seville, Espacio Mondo (Seville), and the PADA Gallery in Lisbon, among others, where she has presented her vision of the human condition and memory. She has also participated in conferences at institutions such as the SUR School of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, which foster dialogue between art and plastic experimentation, and has been awarded in the art competitions of Acciona, Sabadell, CNAL, and Emilio Ollero,  establishing herself as an emerging artist in the contemporary art scene. Upcoming group and solo exhibitions include Terrace Gallery (2015) in London and Haurie Gallery (2026) in Seville.

Through her research and artistic production, Solís O'Neill reflects on the fragility and transformation of form, using drawing and sculpture as mediums to explore universal emotions that connect humans to their environment.
